Easily fix annoying parts of Mountain Lion

It's nice to stay up to date on software and fixes, but it is also a pain to keep up with unwanted interface options or stupendously silly file saving paradigms. So, just short of creating a universal computer that everyone can program and use, we'll be exploring some of the ways to fix the annoying changes in Apple's newest OS, Mountain Lion 10.8.

As you'll see here, the fixes are aggregated and linked back to the original post as they have the instructions very clearly written.

- Save As…
Still perplexing is why Apple decided to change the way everyone has saved files in place of something new is beyond the scope of this article. What I can tell you is that Tuaw.com has a very concise write up of how to bring this functionality back, a.k.a. the "Command + S" & "Command + Shift + S paradigm.

- Show Finder Info
If you have wondered how many files are selected, how much room, or what file path you are on but do not see it anymore, then this fix is for you. When Finder is open, select "View" and scroll down and click "Show Path Bar" & "Show Status Bar" to bring these back into view.

- Finder Icon Color
On MacUpdate.com, there is a great article that shows you how to revert your finder window back to the colored view, making it easier for distinguishing icons for some. The installation requires Terminal use but it is minimal and a breeze.

- Add "Hardrive" Icon to Finder
Instead getting down to the base folders easily, there is now this "All My Files" concept and the "Hardrive" icon is now no longer listed in the left column of Finder automatically. To bring this back, simply navigate to your hardrive at the top most path of your computer (Easily get to the top level path anytime by adding the "File Path" option, accessible if you "option-click" a Finder toolbar and opt to "Customize". Simply drag the icon into the column tray in Finder).

This list may be amended as time progresses. It is important to remember that this is not the only way to compute, platform speaking. There are plenty of instances where different interaction and computing paradigms shine. But, for the time speaking, in my honest opinion, these changes have been nice to be able to perform.
